Safety and privacy
Juhupost is built so that we can never see your mail – not because we promise, but because it never passes through us.
No server of its own
The app talks directly to your child's mailbox. Mail, address book, approvals and settings live there and on your family's devices. The devices sync through the mailbox.
What your child sees – and what you see
- Mail from strangers waits for your approval before your child sees it.
- If your child writes to a new address, you decide – depending on your settings.
- Mail with approved contacts stays private; you don't see it.
- Settings exist only in parent mode; your child can't change anything.
Credentials
The mailbox password is stored only encrypted on your devices (Android Keystore). You pair more devices with an encrypted QR code and a six-digit number; a photo of the QR code alone is not enough.
No ads, no tracking
Juhupost contains no ads, no analytics and no crash reporting. The only connection besides your mailbox is the empty wake-up call of the instant alert (with Family, can be switched off): it goes through Google, contains only the device's identifier and is stored nowhere.
Remove without a trace
Everything Juhupost creates in the mailbox lives in a folder “Juhupost”. One button in parent mode removes it; afterwards it's a perfectly normal mailbox for any mail program.
