Buy once, unlocked everywhere
You buy Family in the app on a parent device via Google Play. It unlocks all devices of your family; the child device learns about it through the mailbox, not through a server of ours. On a new parent device, “Restore purchase” brings it back.
The instant alert
Without Family, you learn about your child's requests with the next sync. With Family, your child's device wakes your devices within seconds. This uses an empty wake-up call via Google; it only contains the device's identifier, never content. You can switch the instant alert off at any time.
