Terms of use
These terms apply to the Android app Juhupost by Thomas Schiffler, Draiser Str. 6, 55270 Ober-Olm, Germany (“we”). Last updated: 6 November 2026. The German version is binding.
1. What Juhupost is
Juhupost is an email program for children. It connects to a mailbox that you create with a mail provider of your choice. You provide the mailbox and the contract with the provider yourself; the provider's terms apply to it. The app is free. A one-time purchase, “Juhupost Family”, unlocks additional features.
2. Who sets up the app
A parent or another person with parental responsibility sets up the app and keeps control of the settings in parent mode. You are responsible for who is in the address book, what you approve and who has access to the parent devices.
3. Limits of protection
Juhupost lets through mail from senders in the address book and holds everything else for review. Sender addresses can be forged; where the provider supports it, the app checks technical proof of the sender, but it cannot detect forgeries in every case. Juhupost does not replace your guidance. The instant alert may also be delayed or fail; requests then arrive with the next sync.
4. Juhupost Family
Family costs a one-time €4.99 (incl. VAT), no subscription. The purchase is processed through Google Play; Google Play's terms also apply to payment, invoicing and refunds. The unlock applies to your family's devices paired with the same mailbox and can be transferred to new parent devices via “Restore purchase”.
By buying, you agree that the unlock takes effect immediately. As a result, the right of withdrawal for digital content expires (§ 356(5) of the German Civil Code).
5. Availability and changes
We keep developing Juhupost and may change features where this is reasonable for you. Protection features stay free. We will not take away features you bought with Family. The instant alert depends on Google services; we cannot promise it is always available.
6. Liability
We are liable without limitation for intent and gross negligence, for injury to life, body or health, and under the German Product Liability Act. For slight negligence, we are liable only for breach of essential obligations whose fulfilment makes use possible in the first place, limited to the foreseeable, typical damage. Otherwise, for free use we are liable only for intent and gross negligence.
7. Final provisions
German law applies. If you live in another EU country as a consumer, the mandatory consumer protection rules of that country remain unaffected. If these terms change, we will point this out in the app or on this page.
