Which mailbox for my child?

Juhupost works with any mailbox that offers IMAP and SMTP. Create a separate mailbox for your child – not your own. We recommend providers based in the EU.

mailbox.org

German provider, privacy-friendly, small monthly fee, no ads.

Create a mailbox for your child, then enter address and password in Juhupost. If two-factor login is on, create an app password in the mailbox.org settings and use that.

Posteo

German provider, privacy-friendly, small monthly fee, no ads.

Create an account for your child, then enter address and password in Juhupost. Juhupost finds the servers by itself.

Your own domain

A mailbox with your web host, e.g. mia@familyname.com.

Create the mailbox in your host's admin area. If Juhupost can't find the servers, enter your host's IMAP and SMTP servers by hand.

GMX and WEB.DE

Widespread and free; the webmail shows ads.

Important: First allow IMAP access in the webmail under Settings → “POP3/IMAP”. Then enter address and password in Juhupost.

What about Gmail?

Juhupost does not support Gmail. Google requires signing in through Google's servers. That doesn't fit our promise that your mail stays with your provider only.
